Santo Domingo – Several entities signed an agreement this Thursday in which they will join efforts to develop a technological platform that allows speeding up the export processes of agricultural products.
The “Agricultural Export Platform” will be a tool that will offer information to users, description and commercialization of products, tools for traceability and electronic payment.
In addition, this platform will allow the export of onion, banana and some citrus fruits by air, from the Dominican Republic.
The Ministry of Agriculture, the Dominican Postal Institute (Inposdom), ProDominicana, the Santo Domingo Cyber Park and Dominican Agricultural Supply Markets are involved in the signing of the agreement.
The general administrator of Merca Santo Domingo, Socrates Díaz, said that an agile and efficient trade will be allowed, guaranteeing that air services leave quickly.
Freddy Fernández, head of the agricultural cabinet of the Ministry of Agriculture, stressed that the Cybernetic Park will create a platform and train exporters so that Dominican products reach other countries.
